Legal Question in Technology Law in Alaska

Is it illegal for someone to release any form of personal identifying information about me through the internet.

Basically the main example is, if an admin to a game released my IP address to all the other players, and one of the players (Who is threatening to injure me in some shape or form.) was to use that information to find out a rough idea where I lived, or proceeded to use that information against me to figure out more information about me, is that illegal ?

In simple terms, is it illegal for someone to release my Ip address, and it could be linked to my home address ?

If so, could you provide the information to me in some shape or form ?

Yes, it is legal to release your IP address unless the posted rules for the game site provide otherwise. You should review the provacy policy of the site and determine what the rules are.
