Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

I was recently let go from a management position with no warning or notice. There was a management change and the new guy wanted someone else. As far as I know I was meeting all the expectations of the prior management. My 90 day probation had elapsed by months and the reason I was given is that "I wasn't the guy for the job and should have never been hired in the first place". This happened 2 weeks before I was due a year end bonus, which to qualify for you have to end the year with the company. The corporate headquarters are in New Jersey. I know Arizona's labor laws are tough. Do I have any recourse?

Thanks,

Josh

Thank you for the inquiry. If you were a normal at-will employee, the company can terminate you for any reason or no reason. The could not, however, terminate you because of your race, gender, national origin, religion, age, or disability status. If you believe the company terminated you only to avoid paying you your bonus, you might have a claim for the amount of the bonus. The claim would be one for violation of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
