Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Home insurance

Our landlord wants us to sign a letter stating we would not sue if something happens to the house such as a fire. She lost the insurance coverage on the house. Is she not responsible for insurance on the home?

This is not a real estate question, but falls under the category of landlord/tenant. Feel free to re-submit under that category.

I will add my comment. Beware of this situation. No insurance means that there is no liability coverage to protect you from loss, such as injury from the home or its defects. I personally would never rent a home with no fire/liability coverage. What if you are injured due to the landlord's negligence? And why was it that she lost her insurance? Claims, or non-payment of premiums? Will you be responsible if the house is damaged by fire, theft, burglary, storm or other hazard? Beware. Get advice from a landlord attorney on this site or in person.

Good luck.
