Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Privacy & Property

My neighbours built a treehouse that looks right onto our pool. Are there any property or privacy laws that prevent this?

Do you have a homeowner's association? Check with them first. If not, then see if your neighborhood has CC&R's and find out if building a treehouse is prohibited. Have an attorney review the CC&Rs and help you understand them.

If that doesn't work, then I think you're out of luck.

The other option is to buy the neighbors' kids a Nintendo Wii. If they have one of those, they'll never go in the treehouse.

As mentioned by Mr. Blum, your homeowner's association may have relevant CC&Rs. You might also check your local city ordinances. I don't know where you live, but I believe the City of Chandler has ordinances that would address and prevent this problem.
