Legal Question in Banking Law in Arkansas
my dad's checking account
my mom and dad have never gotten along,, for over 55yrs. My dad is in the hospital from having 3 major operation in the last 4 wks.. he is not coherent. My mom and dad have their own checking accounts, but the bills are coming in and my mom has to pay the bills. She is not on his checking acct. She is Power of Attoney though in his will. How can we get her name on that so she can pay the bills.?
we have tried everything, and I don't live there and can'at be there to help her..??

Re: my dad's checking account
A power of attorney and the will are 2 different things. If she has a power of attorney for the father, and it allows her to write checks on his account to pay bills, that is what she needs. Otherwise, you are going to need an attorney to discuss other options. There are other details that I would need to know to answer completely.
