In a class action law suit, Is the Main plaintiff usually awarded more money?

I recently file a class action against a nation wide company. Now that is going well lawyers tell me that i may not get anymore money than the rest of my co-workers. At first i was told that i may and now i'm confused.

In most class action suits only the lawyers get paid.
