Legal Definition of Parties

Who are parties to a suit? If you file a complaint against a public entity and list that entity as a party are all the agents of the entity parties also if involved in actions eventhough you have not specifically listed them as parties?

The parties are the named plaintiff, who is the person filing the suit, and the named defendants, the people or entities being sued. Unnamed employees are not parties.
