Partly true. Corporations must file and periodically re-file Secretary of State Form SO-200, listing the names and addresses of three officers (the president or CEO, the treasurer or CFO, and the corporate secretary), directors, and the registered agent for service of process. However, there is no requirement to give Social Security numbers. The SO-200 is a public record, not currently available on line, but a copy can be ordered from the Secretary of State. I believe most other states have similar requirements.
