Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

I need to know what i can do about the sheriff breaking in my front door with a warrant for someone who is already in their custody? This person has been in jail since the beginning of the year and the sheriff broke down my door this morning looking for him or anything to do with him because they say my address is listed as his address for probation. Wouldn't these officers already know that this person is incarcerated? They presented investigative evidence to a judge to get this warrant, but had not gone far enough in their investigation to know that this person has been in jail for the better part of the year? What if any recourse do i have in this situation? They said they will not fix my front door, they almost gave my mother a heart attack. What if any recourse do i have in this situation?
