Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Auto Dealer-ship did not tell me everything about my new car!

Recently, I purchased a car at a local auto dealership and now have discovered the new car I bought was previously sold to another party. However, the dealership had retrieved this vehicle the next day or so from the person, because of financial reasons. That is what I had later found out later by the gentlemen that sold me the car.

In a nutshell, how I discovered this information on my car being sold prior to me because, I lost my car key, and did not have the metal tag (that was supposed to be given when I bought this car) to make it easier to replace the key. So, it was quite expensive to get another key made.

The contract reads as follows: NEW in the New/Used box area. Does this mean ''fraud or deceit'' from the dealership? Is this a penalty or fine if so? What can be done to recover my losses? Do I negotiate fairness or report them? I am not looking to file any legal claims; I just want what is fair and owed to me.

Thank you and hope that you can respond quickly,
