Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Want to remove my name as co-signer on home morgage

Eleven years ago I co-signed on a mortgage for my sister so that she could purchase a home. She lives in the house, and has made all payments on time, at no cost to me. My problem is that I have been looking to by a home of my own, and her home shows on my credit report. It's not a negative on my credit, but can be seen as over extented on my part. I would be legally responsible for 2 mortgages! She could refinance at a lower rate, and/or have her campanion as a co-signer. Her campanion is financially solvent, and they have been together for 15 years. She has refused to do either. My question is, what can I do to get my name off her mortgage. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Thank you for any advice you my have.

you get your name off when that first mortgage is paid in full.
