Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Credit question

If the statute of limitations is up on an old phone bill from 2001 and it is still on my credit report and I am still recieving calls, what action do I take to resolve this? The calls just began last week and I have never recieved a call before regarding this seven year old bill.

Re: Credit question

It can stay on your credit report for 7 years from the date it became delinquent. Thus, it may still be valid to be on your report.

As for the calls, send them a validation letter and then, once you get validation, tell them not to contact you anymore. You can find sample forms on my website, www.californiadebtblog.com
