The Defense has scheduled a discovery on a Saturday. Is this normal procedure?

Re: Discovery schedules on Saturday

There is nothing in the law called "a discovery."

You might have received interrogatories or other discovery requests, and you might have computed the time limit as ending on a Saturday. If you computed the time correctly (including extra time for mailing), your deadline is automatically extended to Monday (or the following day if Monday is a legal holiday. Usually the other side will grant reasonable extensions of time, these should always be confirmed in writing.

If they have noticed your deposition for a Saturday, you have the option of appearing or objecting to the deposition notice. Read the Code of Civil Procedure for specific requirements.

Normally someone who is defending a credit or debt case should use a lawyer, since many consumer contracts provide that the prevailing party will be awarded attorney fees. No attorney, no fees.
