Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Made large loan to family member, now can't collect

Made a personal loan of $48,000.00 to my sister in 6/2000. Did not get a receipt in writing, but the loan was through a wire transfer. She is now saying prove it was a loan. I am in CA where the funds came from, she is in MN where the funds were sent. How do I proceed to collect this very large amount? 2 years is a long time to wait! Help!!!

Since the loan was made in California, I believe we can sue here for it. When was the loan due to be paid? There is a two year statute of limitations.
