Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

How do i pay a judgment...

I have a judgement against me as of today, i want to know if i should start paying this, or will i get my wages garnished[which i don't want] How do i avoid garnished wages? When it is all paid up, do i have to then clean my credit report?

Thanks for your inquiry. From the date of a judgment, you may have a certain time to appeal, which depends on where they obtained the judgment (small claims, federal court, etc) against you.

Assuming that you don't want to appeal or declare bankruptcy, a judgment is mean to be paid in full. Although they can garnish wages, or seize a bank account, etc., you can make payments instead, if the creditor agrees. Otherwise, you can pay in full, or do nothing, and leave it up to them to decide how best to collect.
