Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I received a notice of levy under writ of execution (money Judgment) I have not worked in 5 years my husband is a disable veterian receiveing money. All is direct deposit into our bank account. the writ says it will garnish my deposit account. Can they take out our money from the goverment?
