Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

re:Credit Profile Inaccuracies and Statute of Limitations

I have 4 credit cards I have not paid on since June 2002,because they tripled my interest rates, saying I had too many credit cards, although all payments were on time.

I know the Statute of Limitations will take effect this June 2006. Yet, only one of the cards states on my credit report that the last payment was in June, of 2002. Why are the other three stating in my report that recent payments were received as recently as 2004? And what, if anything can I do, so that when June comes around, I will know the Statute will take effect by that time on all 4 cards?

So basically you borrowed money from the credit card companies to make purchases and decided not to repay it because they raised the interest rates? Why not just live up to your obligations and repay your debts?

A credit card user is obligated to pay his or her debt and not to game the system. A lawyer will not help you strategize to defraud the credit card companies.

Re: re:Credit Profile Inaccuracies and Statute of Limitations

If they are fraudulently stating you made payments that you did not make during a certain timeframe, they appear to simply be trying to illegally toll the statute of limitations period in hopes of preserving their alleged claim. This is blatantly illegal, and you should have an attorney immediately contact them regarding this, demanding a validation of debt letter according to FDCPA rules.
