Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

What are the usury laws in CA

I need to know the usury laws in CA, I may not be able to continue paying my credit card bills and I need to know what they could charge in the first place, how much interest can accrue between the time I stop paying and what interest will be if they write off the accounts and they go to a collection agency.\

Thank you

Re: What are the usury laws in CA

The usury law in California does not apply to credit card companies as they are governed by federal law. It would be nice if it did though. If you are in over your head in credit card debt, you probably do not want to get into even more debt by paying an attorney to fight the credit card companies. There are ways I may be able to help you, including negotiating a payment plan with a reduction of the balances owed, or filing bankruptcy. Feel free to call me should you require further assistance.
