Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I have a conviction from six years ago for grand theft and conspiracy in another state, they had convicted me after i had moved back to California. i have never been to court for this nor did i ever receive jail time or probation. however it does show up if you google my name and is hindering me from attaining employment. i have no other convictions what so ever and was wandering what i should do in order to resolve this situation.any advice would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE HELP "

No California attorney can 'help' with matters in another state. Contact an attorney local to the convicting court and discuss with him.

You may have some serious issues. Being convicted after you "moved back" sounds like a trial in absentia to me... Lots of issues if this was the case, Mr Nelson is right find an attorney in that jurisdiction

A trial in absentia is probably unconstitutional Hopt v. Utah 110 US 574, 28 L Ed 262, 4 S Ct 202 (1884) What I suspect is happening is that you have a warrant out for you in the other state. In an case you need to follow the advice of Mr. Nelson and Mr. Green and contact a criminal defense attorney in the other state.
