Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
DOJ background record
On 2/6/07, I was granted an expungement for a misdemeanor (petty theft) from 1999. I got a job in another state, they sent a fingerprint card, so I called DOJ today, they said they have no notice of expungement. Is there anything I can do to update my record so I get a clean record on the employment background check?

Re: DOJ background record
Get a certified copy of the expungement and serve it on the DOJ. That should clean up your record.
