Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I live in a Mobil home park the homes are very close my next door neighbor on my driveway side has there Security Cameras pointed directly at my home and they are doing this intentionally because we don't get along and there Camera is inside there home its in there kitchen not on the outside of there home and is only pointed at my home on my driveway side I can't have my curtains open because they are looking right in to my home the public can only see in my home if they pull into my driveway. Isn't that illegal for them to do that. I was told that Security Cameras are not suppose to be pointed directly at some ones home. what can I do to stop this. Thank you

"Illegal"?

I suspect he would 'defend' his camera use by saying it is directed at, and simply wide angle viewing, the side of his property for home security reasons. If it were on the outside, the same reasoning would apply. I suppose if it was some form of telephoto lense that directed at, and only closely observing your window and nothing else, then it could be argued it is intended as an 'invasion of privacy' that could justify your complaint and potentially a civil lawsuit. Have you asked him to show you the camera's image to confirm what it does show, versus what you think it does? Or asked him to address your concerns? Those actions by you would be a prerequisite before taking 'legal action'.

I also suspect that if you contacted local police they also would tell you it is a 'civil matter' that you should try to resolve by peaceful negotiation. That is good advice. Living in confined quarters dictates that all parties be reasonable and courteous to avoid problems.
