Don't Panic. These cases can be defended even though it might not seem that way at first glance. The result depends on lots of factors including the relative ages of the parties and many, many others. The most important factor is having a lawyer on your side in whom you have confidence. While Mr. Stone says not to panic, my advice would be not to panic but to be very concerned and consult with a criminal lawyer experienced in sex cases immediately. These kinds of cases do vary depending on many factors, but there are often ways to minimize the impact of the charges, to devise defense strategies and to work out a disposition that will work for you and for the District Attorney and the Court. If you'd like to talk to me about this, don't hesitate to contact me, including over this weekend. I check my email frequently and can call you if you give me your telephone number. The sooner you get a lawyer, the better it will be. Good luck. Steve Mandell
