Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

young man needs help

My fiance was on parole and doing very well. I found a set of brass knuckles and put them in our room. His car was allegedly used by someone in a home burglary. The police have searched him, the car and our room and only found the brass knuckles i didnt throw away. They are charging him with manufacturing and selling undetected firearms and have him on a parole hold. Supposedly some guns, jewelry and a car was stolen. the driver has been arrested and confessed. My fiance is still being held without bail and I dont know how to help him. His next court date is 5/7/07 in Westminster. We are young and just trying to get started in life. He just got a job as a loan officer. Our lives are now shattered and I need help desperatley. Please, if any one can help us I will work the rest of my life to repay your help. I am lost and am praying for someone to help us.

Thank you for anything you can do.

Who was it that handled his first case? The public defender should beable to help him now. What is the bases of the charges against him now? He does have a right to a formal parole hearing where the evedence has to be presented and he can submit rebutal evidence.

Re: young man needs help

You only can help him by getting him counsel. If he qualifies for the public defender, then have him apply. It sounds like he doesn't, and will need to hire private counsel, which costs money as you are well aware. I'll be happy to discuss the case, but the discussion will include that issue of fees. Criminal matters are simply not done on payment plan normally, without providing security to the attorney, such as trust deeds or title to property, etc.

Thank you for your inquiry. Your mother emailed me directly yesterday, and also posted here, and we had a detailed discussion about all the ways that an attorney can help in this situation. Remember that charges filed don't mean guilt, and there are things that can be done now to protect your fiance. If you'd like to discuss details confidentially, or have any more questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. It's my pleasure to assist in any way that I can.
