Legal Question in DUI Law in California

I was convicted of 2 DUIs in 99 and 2001 but only settled the cases in 2007. Since I intended to leave the country, the courts removed the alchohol programs and my DL suspended for 18mo. I surrendered my green card and moved back to Europe. The company I work for now wants to relocate me back to California on an L1 visa. Will I be able to drive legally with my European DL and will the suspension be lifte since it's been well over 18 months? Will I be able to reinstate my CA DL?

Unless you previously submitted a non-residency declaration with the California DMV's Mandatory Actions Unit (thereby getting it to lift the suspension), then you are likely going to have to complete the 18-month school before you can legally drive here.
