Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Entrapment

While in a bar with my vehicle parked in front, local police randomly selected my vehicle and did a license plate check. Unfortunately, I was driving with a suspended license. The officers entered the bar and the employee identified all three customers, including me, by name. The officers left the bar, parked about 300 yards down the road and waited for me to leave. They pulled me over and the first thing asked was if I knew I had a suspended license. I subsequently was arrested for DUI.

Questions: Is this a legal tactic for the police to use? Should I fight this in court?
