Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Studio Contracts

I have a production company, and I am trying to figure out if and how I can sign actors/actresses to my studio for a period of time so that they will only do my movies. This is the ''old Hollywood studio system'' that does not seem to exist any longer (because of Screen Actors Guild?), BUT the porn studios DO sign performers as exclusive contract performers. How can I research how I can lock up talent to my studio nowadays (I make mainstream, not adult, films)?

Re: Studio Contracts

My friend, if I knew how to rescuscitate the old-time Hollywood studio system, I would be lounging by the pool instead of sitting here behind a terminal hustling nickel-and-dime cases on the Internet.

I googled [california personal services contract minimum] and the first hit, from the website of attorney Ivan Hoffman, seems to be dead-on responsive to your query. I've nothing to add to it.

Best of luck, and break a leg.
