Legal Question in Family Law in California

Alienation of Child

Since Oct. 2001 all of my parental rights and visitation has been totally cut, without my permission.

Ex & I were never married, but shared custody.

I have done nothing wrong. I have been carring & responsible for my daughter her entire life.

Due to mother's constant withholding of child and brainwashing throughout her entire life, our child has now said she does not want any contact & wants step dad to adopt,& he agreed, only mother will not agree because child support will end. All contact is refused by mother and child, both. This is a total money and control issue with ex.

Courts do NOTHING concerning mothers violations. Sadly the situation is getting worse.

Since I have absolutely no rights and child refuses to have contact, can I end my parental rights and responsibilities legally?

Child is 13. We all live in California.

Thank you for any advice or wisdom!

Re: Alienation of Child

You can't lose parental rights without your agreement or gross negligence. If you had an attorney, get another, or follow his advice. If you have not had an attorney, that is why you are losing contact. Talk to a good child custody attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

the only way to do that is to consent to the adoption
