Legal Question in Family Law in California

California inheritance - separate or community property ?

Hello

In California under what circumstances would an inheritance be considered transmuted from separate property to community property ?

How is it determined if funds are commingled ?

If you received $100 and put that into a community checking account with $100, then you have commingled the funds. You can still claim they are separate so long as you can trace to specific separate funds back to your inheritance.
