Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support suit.

Im not sure what area of Law this would go under.

My sons father's savings account was levied for over $5000.00 not sure the exact amount because they wouldn't tell me. The paternal Grandmother called me and said i have 2 options. Option 1: is that it go to court and be fought there, The father would take me to court to dispute the amount owed then get me for child support (as of now im Non-custodial) then he would sue me in civil suit for the court fee's and attorney fee's etc. Or Option 2: Id take $1000.00 and say i don't want the remainder amount which is roughly $7000.00 and $4500.00 to the county. and he will sign a document saying that i would not have to pay child support...now or in the future. I am already paying for an attorney for child custody and cannot afford another attorney and i need advice about this. What should I do? they are also trying to use a scare tactic saying ''they don't want to see me get into trouble.'' Implying that they have something that would for some reason get me in trouble. Can someone please give me advice. I wish i could afford another attorney but i cannot. and In my state its extremely hard to find pro bono attorneys. any suggestions. Thank You.

I am not sure that I understand the situation. However, this sounds like something that you should definitely talk to your child custody attorney about without delay. If your attorney will not help, then perhaps search for battered women's agencies and such, and even if they cannot help, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.
