Legal Question in Family Law in California

community property

My husband and I both had separate homes before we were married. After marriage I sold my home and we are now buying a income commercial property as ''community property'' with my money. My name is not on his house (where I live) and he is self employed. Will I get screwed in a divorce?

Re: community property

That depends on many more facts than what you have given and some complex formulas. You should sit down and talk to an attorney. You will have a right of reimbursement for the money that you paid into the community income property, so you do not totally lose out. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
