Legal Question in Family Law in California

custody rights

I have a daughter which Ihave joint custody with the mother, whom I have never been married to. The court awarded the joint custody and time spent with my daughter for every weekend and holidays. If asked by the mother to change this, do I have to change my time ?

The judge also ordered that we both take a class which she has taken and I have not. The mother is now stating that her attorney has said that since I have not obeyed that I can be placed in jail for this. Can this happen. I am in the process of trying to shcedule the class but is this an actual legal recourse.

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: custody rights

You better do what the court ordered and so must she. If you have "reasonable" visitation rights instead of some specific order for certain days, go back to court for something specific so she can't jerk you around.
