Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex-husband just received a substantial lump sum of money that was being held in an account since 2003 or 2004 by his employer. He filed for divorce the end of 2006 and it was final Jan. 2008. I had no knowldge of this money until just recently (04/10). Since we were married 11/95, 11 years, wouldn't this money be considered community property and can I petition the court for one-half since I had no knowledge of the money until now? The court is maintaining jurisdiction over our divorce because I receive spousal support until the end of Jan. 2011.

Without knowing all the details, it is impossible to say for sure, but from what you describe sounds like a fraud on the court that would definitely allow you to go back into court for your share of that money.
