Legal Question in Family Law in California

I live in california. What are my rights if I divorce after 6 months of marriage. I gave up my rented home and sold all of my belongings and moved in with him to a house he owns. What are the laws on community property and spousal support for a short term marriage

A short term marriage has the same rights as a long term marriage, for the duration of your marriage you are entitled to community property rights in whatever you acquired as a couple. Of course it is more complicated than that, but you are still entitled to community property in the 6 months of marriage.

For self represented individuals, you can always check out the family law facilitator in your local court house for self help. Additionally, please consult with a local attorney prior to taking any legal action.

Good luck,
