You have to file your dissolution paperwork first. If you do not know where he is, you can not have him personally served. You have to serve him by publication in the news paper. This requires among other things a due dilligence search for him.

Our paralegal department is skilled in assisting self represented parties with obtaining permission to serve by publication.

With any family law issue, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Good luck to you!

first off, we are very sorry to hear about the loss of your child..you have our deepest sympathies. as far as your divorce goes, it can be a long tedious process, especially if there are community property assets, pensions, etc..at issue. a do it yourself kit may not be the most advantageous route to go if you want to make sure your rights are fully protected. thus, if you would like a free phone consultation, email us directly with your contact information and we will help you anyway we possibly can during this difficult period for you.
