Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am not merried but lived with my partner for more then 10 years is there anything any legal guidelines i need to fallow if i want a seperation

The question requires more information. If you bought real or personal property together, there will need to be a plan to divide your assets and liabilities. The family law act would not apply if there is no marriage or domestic partnership.
