Legal Question in Family Law in California

responsible for husbands finances during divorse proceedings

My husband has informed me that the marriage is over and that he his seeing someone else. He is a shop-aholic. I'm worried I will be responsible for his finances now that we are no longer together. I don't want to hurt my credit. I will need to have a great one in order to refinance the house in my name. What should I do to prevent this from happening.I have put a notice in the local paper stating that I was no longer responsible for them, with the date we came to that decision

Re: responsible for husbands finances during divorse proceedings

You to file for a dissolution of marriage right away. There are certain restraining orders that are automatic, and your potential liabilities will be greatly diminished by doing the same. You can also seek temporary orders as to certain issues as well.

If you are in Southern California contact me through this system and I will give you a free consultation.
