Sole legal and physical custody

My nephews girlfriend and he have 2 kids, never married. She made the mistake of telling me that she filed for sole legal and physical custody without him knowing anything about it. She has someone that saying they served him, but did not. Is there a way I can find out if this is true or not? my nephew is in rehab right now.

go to the court clerk and do a file search. if you find a file copy everything in it and get an attorney.
