Legal Question in Family Law in California

Does the validity of a Power of Attorney terminate upon the executor's death? My husband signed a rather comprehensive Power of Attorney less than a year after we got married appointing another relative. It seems that this form was provided by a title insurance and trust company and nowhere in the document does it say anything as to whether it is binding after his death. Thanks.
