Calculating time for deadlines

When the deadline falls on the weekend do you choose the Friday before or Monday after?

It depends what deadline you're talking about. Generally speaking, if the deadline was calculated by counting backwards from some other date you would have to file on the previous Friday. Otherwise, the due date would typically become the following Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday).

As I said, this is how it generally works. Without knowing more about your situation, though, I can't say whether the usual rules apply.

Depends on the type of deadline; for a statute of limitations is the following Monday; if it is a Motion date, it is the prior Friday.
