Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My car was towed from a red zone on private property and there was not any tow signs posted at front of the building there are not any tow signs up at all. Was that a legal tow?

The private property owner can establish areas where no parking is allowed. There is no notice given at public red zone areas saying the car may be towed as everyone knows that. There is no reason not to know it means the same on private and public property. The tow appears legal.
