Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Libelous Statement?

Tour company X takes tourists on a mountain bicycle ride down mountain Y. Mountain Y is known to be very steep in certain areas. Tour company X takes precautions to protect riders. Someone posts on the internet ''Tour Company X is irresponsible for taking tourists down Mountain Y''. Is that statement libel?

Re: Libelous Statement?

I believe that this would only be an opinion and an opinion is not actionable. An example of libel would be more like, "The owner of company X likes to get drunk while he rides his bikes, and when he gets drunk, he often attacks the female participants."

Good luck.
