Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I was wondering how much money do you have to have in the bank for a fiance visa? I make over 30K and over 10K in investments.

You need to demonstrate that your future spouse will not become a public charge. As a household you must earn at least 125% above the poverty line but it's not really a question of how much money you have in the bank.

If you meet the income requirements, assets are inconsequential. The following link clearly indicates the 125% level depending on household size: http://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

General information about the K1 category is here: www.h1b1.com/K1visa.htm

Your salary as per listed on your tax returns and pay stubs is more important than what you have in the bank. You will have to refer to the poverty guidelines and based on the number of people that are a part of your "household", determine whether you meet the minimum income requirement. If it is only her and you (in the household that is), you're in good shape.
