Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

My Father was involved in two accidents. In the first he was hit by a car while crossing the street. A year later he was hit in an intersection by a person who ran a red light. He has been complaining of significant knee injury and back pain for the past two years. He has hired a lawyer to help with both of the accidents. His lawyer decided to only go after the first accident and insurance company. However, he has medical bills more expensive than the settlements the first insurance company has offered to pay. My question is what can be done? What should my father do? Should he hire a different lawyer? He is an honest, compassionate, hardworking, beautiful person who is NOT being helped in the way that he should be. I NEED help please...

Robert F. Cohen Law Office of Robert F. Cohen

The statute of limitation for personal injury runs (i.e. expires) after two years from the date of injury. So if it's not quite two years since the second accident, and the lawyer isn't helping on that one, your father might just rush to seek out another attorney who will work with him on the second accident.
