Is there a California Minimum Wage law for Independent Contractors working on straight commission at moving "road shows" in stores like Costco?

Independent contractors are NOT employees, don't earn 'wages', and aren't covered by CA wage and hour laws. Now, if you are actually an employee, that's different. It is unlikely you can be validly classified as an independent contractor. If you are an employee claiming to be commission based, you probably must be paid at least the equivalent of minimum wage. If not, go try to file a claim for unpaid wages with the local Labor Commissioner.
