Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Do I have a case against former employer?

About a month or 2 ago I handed my manager a letter of resignation. Recently, I tried to get re-hired there because the job I had before laid me off. I was told by another store manager that my record showed I was fired and I was accused of doing drugs. I have been in contact with my union as well as the HR dept in the company but so far nothing. Do I have a legal case against them? Its going to be very hard for me to get a job now.

Hello.

It is possible that you have a defamation claim against your employer, which may help clear up your name and record. I am an employment in Sacramento area. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to contact me.
