Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Can I be fired?

I have worked at my company for going on 3 years. I recently have been out sick for 2 days, I have a Dr.'s appointrment tomorrow morning (soonest they could see me)

I called today to update supervisor and was told to call back after hours.

Strange behavior for this type of situation.

Can I be fired for calling in sick?

Thank you for your assistance.

You should not be fired for calling in sick.

Just a thought -- maybe the supervisor was so hassled because he/she had to pick up your slack that there was no time to talk. Maybe you're missed! Imagine that.
