Legal Question in Employment Law in California

II live in California and work in downtown los Angeles at a car dealership. Can I wear a political canidate button to work and or bring in my coffee mug with their info on it? Can my company prohibit this ? Does it violate my rights? If something does occur what is my recourse ?

Your employer can decide what you can wear or bring into the work place. Your freedom of speech is gone once you punch in.

Free speech is a public right, not a private one. You have no free speech rights on someone else's private property, particularly not an employer where politics could disrupt the work place or drive away customers.
