Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Job Harrassment

I work in a dental office where the dentist and the hygienist constantly harrass all the employees.

They make rude and inapropriate remarks, demeaning the staff, in front of our patients and other staff members. If confronted with an issue, they lie and say they did not say anything. I am training a staff member who is not a R.D.A. The Dr. has her do things that she is not licensed to do. I enjoy working there, other than the harrassment. Is there anything we can do to stop the harrassment?

Re: Job Harrassment

If you are certain that you are asked to train an individual to do tasks that under the law are required to be done by an licensed person, you should refuse to do so. You may also make a compliant to the licensing agency regarding the situation. If you are then terminated , you would have a cause of action for tortious discharge in violation of public policy.
