Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Office closed-DA investigation

My 15 year old daughter worked for a sales office for 3 weeks and received 1 week pay. The office was suddenly closed due to DA investigation of white collar crime. DA office won't give out address and we can't contact owner. How do we get her 2 weeks pay. Alot of money for a 15yr old.Is there something we can file with the court?

Re: Office closed-DA investigation

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your daughter needs to bring a claim with the labor board. Since the labor board has jurisdiction over pay disputes, you should bring any unpaid wage claims here. The labor board can schedule a hearing, using the employer's last known address, and can get you a judgment for the unpaid wages plus any penalties.

I hope that this answers your question, but if you need further information, have other questions you need answered, or feel that you need legal representation, I am happy to help in any way that I can. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
