Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am a reservist in the Army. I requested time off at my job two full months in advance and the purpose was to visit my father before I deploy in October. My request was denied for this exact reason, "Sorry, but I talked with Dorothy (Manager) and Kevin (General Manager) and we need you here because of your leave coming up". This clearly says that my paid time off request was denied due to my military obligation coming in October. Is this discrimination?

No. You were denied personal leave to which you have no legal 'right'. You were not denied military service leave, which could have bee a violation.
